TOURIST PENSIONER

 

SELF ECONOMIC SOLVENCY

The applicant makes one petition at the Immigration’s Directorate.

 

The applicant makes two petitions at the Immigration’s Directorate.  One provisional and one for the Permanent.

Does not give right to apply for Citizenship.

 

Gives right to apply for Citizenship.

Once approved the tourist pensioner has the right for exemption of import of duties for the importation of household goods (up to $10,000) and the exemption to import a car every two years.  This exemption shall be previously applied for at the immigration department.

 

Does not confer import duties exemptions.

The applicant needs to prove that he/she receives a monthly retirement income of at least USD500.00 plus USD100.00 per dependent.

 

The applicant needs to make an investment of USD200,000.00 in Real Estate (free of liens) or have a time deposit for the same amount at a local bank or a mix of both resulting an investment of a total of USD200,000.00. This investment needs to be kept by the applicant for two years

The applicant does not have the right to apply to a working permit in Panama.

 

The applicant could apply for a working permit in Panama.

Men with 60 years old or more and women with 55 can apply for several discounts at pharmacies, restaurants, transportation, clinics, etc. This does not depend on their type of residency permit.
